SummaryOedematous exophtalmy may occur after treatment of Grave’s disease by thyroidectomy or antithyroid drugs. It also can be observed without any treatment at all. It then appears alone or associated to thyrotoxicosis. Clinically, it seems difficult to explain every case by the action of thyrotropic hormone. It is more probable thatœdematous exophtalmos is due to a factor different from T.H., but in several circumstances, there is a simultaneous hyperproduction of these two principles.
