AbstractCHI Research has developed a system of technology indicators for measuring the technological strengths of companies. They are based on more than one million US patents, and eight million patent citations, and provide comparative indicators of the activity, impact, speed, science linkage, and technology linkage of the activities of thousands of US and foreign companies. This report describes the key indicators, and then discusses their applicability to policy, strategic and tactical analyses.
