摘要:

It is shown that non-linear optical phenomena will occur when high intensity light beams interact with matter. Such light beams have become available with the invention of lasers. A review of the experiments performed with lasers to exhibit non-linear effects is given. These include the generation of harmonic, sum and difference frequencies. The stimulated Raman effect is also discussed.
