摘要:

We examined leaf decomposition in blackwater wetlands for foliage from longleaf pine (Pinus palustris), sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua), and flowering dogwood (Cornus florida). Of these, the leaves of longleaf pine were the slowest to decompose during a five-month period. However, we conclude that the decomposition of leaf litter is not appreciably affected by the acidity associated with blackwater wetlands.
