A brief overview of some ideas concerning the realization of a quantum group symmetry of anN=2supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in the Coulomb phase, through the identification of the Seiberg-Witten variablesa(u)andaD(u)as solutions to the Picard-Fuchs equation solving the Riemann-Hilbert problem on the moduli space. We also comment on differences and relationships with other approaches, namely the original one, those based on integrable spin chains, and those from string-string duality and the projection of six-dimensional null strings. ©1997 American Institute of Physics.
