The ion holding capacity, and strength and persistency of the ion holding phenomena of the materials were investigated through a simple and rapid method, by using Fraction Collector system. The materials were tested under Na‐Ca competing condition. Of materials used, farm manure held about 4/5 of the added ions, of which 48% were strongly held.
