If junior colleges are coming into their own, so is the profession of dean of women in such institutions. The number of coeducational junior colleges employing persons with this or some equivalent title, or with duties which are commonly accepted as pertaining to the work of a dean of women, has greatly increased in recent years. In this article Miss Hilton reports on the functions and activities of such persons, on their training and other qualifications, and makes a number of suggestions and recommendations on the basis of the facts discovered in her survey.
