A system providing a quantitative electronic determination of the Doppler effect of acoustic waves is described. The system makes use of a movable detector tuned to a frequency slightly different from that of a signal delivered to a fixed loudspeaker. A resonance condition is exhibited when the Doppler-shifted frequency “seen” by the moving detector corresponds to the frequency at which it is tuned.
