The Italian Health Ministry recently announced that it would start clinical trials of the controversial anticancer drug cocktail developed by Professor Luigi Di Bella. The decision is a response to strong public pressure on the Italian government to reimburse the treatment following claims that it is a ‘miracle cure’. The government set up an international panel of cancer experts to advise on the trials, which were scheduled to begin last month.
