We evaluated 100 patients with chronic colpo-vaginitis treated with the immunotherapeutic Gynatren/SolcoTrichovac. 44 patients suffered from ‘non-specific’ vaginitis, 42 were infected with Candida albicans and 14 with Chlamydia vaginalis. All patients had had several episodes of vaginal infections, some of them over several years, and 53 patients had current infection which, despite treatment with various drugs and remedies, had already persisted more than 2 months. The treatment consisted of 3 intramuscular injections at intervals of 2 weeks. Four weeks after beginning treatment all patients were free from pain despite the fact that the immune response was not yet fully developed.
