摘要:

The concept of eddy viscosity is generalized to include an ‘‘eddy &bgr;‐term’’ that accounts for the effect of unresolved turbulence and Rossby waves on the resolved modes in the subgrid‐scale representation of &bgr;‐plane turbulence.
