AbstractAn approximate method is proposed for evaluation of the natural frequencies and mode shapes of uniform asymmetric wall‐frame structures. An exact solution is first given for the case in which the coefficient matrix of the dynamic equilibrium equations satisfies certain conditions. Using perturbation analysis, the method is then applied to the more general case in which these conditions are only approximately satisfied. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the techniqu
