摘要:
Abstract—This paper describes a method of measuring the resolution of a very‐fine‐grain phosphor screen without having to build a cathode‐ray tube. The method is based on contact‐printer technology and makes use of a master resolution pattern. This pattern is contact focused onto the screen under investigation. The resulting image is examined under a microscope to determine the finest resolution that can be detected visually in the manner of the shrinking‐raster technique used for tube evaluation. Data collected through this method are compared to data taken from 1‐in. high‐resolution tubes made for airborne applications. It is shown that the method produces results closely matched by the tube data. Several examples are given of the use of this method in measuring resolution of screens of various particle sizes and screen densities, and also the effect of fiber‐optic facepla
