摘要:

SUMMARYA retrospective analysis of 400 consecutive angiographic examinations demonstrated vertebral erosions associated with vertebral artery tortuosity in 7.5%. The condition showed increased incidence with age but there was a significant proportion in the younger age groups. Statistically there was no relationship to the presence of atheroma or hypertension and sex incidence was equal. The fourth cervical vertebra is most commonly affected.A theory is advanced suggesting a basically congenital aetiology but with the incidence affected by acquired factors.
