摘要:

Suitably prepared samples of rare‐earth‐doped CdF2are found to be good photodetectors from the far infrared (20 &mgr;) well into the visible. Preliminary measurements ofD*are of the order of 4 × 109cm (cps)1/2W−1with a response time of the order of 10−6sec. This represents the first attempt to use an ionic crystal as a far‐infrared photoconductor.
