The Upper Silurian deposits in the southern Baltic region are represented by marine carbonaceous rocks and are subdivided into the Birštonas Beds of the Lower Ludlovian, the Pagegiai Beds of the Upper Ludlovian, and the Minija-Jura Beds of the Downtonian.
