In contrast to what is observed in nontuberculous environments, where the positive reactors to T U are at higher risk of contracting T B, in a more or less tuberculous setting such as the hospital, the negative reactors experience a higher incidence. B C G vaccination is accordingly recommended for all hospital personnel who react negatively to 5 T U; by this means an 80% reduction in morbidity can be accomplished.
