AbstractField observations for traverse, triangulation, etc. are basically those of normal section azimuth and spatial distance. This paper presents formulae for computations in terms of such angles and chord distances for the solution of problems related to survey schemes. They are ideal for use with calculator or computer and are accurate for short and long rays.
