摘要:
In brief:Using hand weights during aerobic exercise has been recommended for increasing upper-body strength and calorie expenditure, but this practice can lead to a rare complication—effort thrombosis, as discussed in this case report. Physicians need to consider this complication when a runner complains of muscle strain. The patient history is important; physical examination should include arm measurement comparisons and neurologic, vascular, and musculoskeletal evaluations.
