摘要:

In this paper, the nonlinear vibrations of string with time‐varying length and a weight at one end are investigated. A set of nonlinear, time‐varying differential equations describing this system was derived by using Hamilton's principle. An approximated model was made by variable‐domain finite element formulation. Numerical results are presented for the parabolic and sinusoidal axial‐motions of the string. Finally, the linear and nonlinear effects on the transient amplitudes are also compared.
