摘要:
The experiment described illustrates the principles of coupled mechanical oscillation, makes use of coupled simple pendulums and favorably lends itself to precise experimental measurements. In addition, the motion of the system in the range of small to moderate amplitudes of oscillation may be completely described in terms of measurable lengths and masses. The experiment appears to be valuable for the intermediate laboratory since it shows the physical significance of the theoretical concepts of normal modes and coordinates.
