Many sampling schemes [1][2][4] which originated with MIL-STD-105D [8] are now widely used. This paper proposes some modified switching rules which will simplify the switching procedure from normal to reduced inspection, about which some discussions [10] concerning simplicity arise. On the modified switching rules, equivalency to the l05D rule is first examined, practical modified sampling plans by attributes are proposed, and switching characteristics under the modified plans are analyzed. The same studies are also made on the modified sampling plans by variables.
