&NA;The author summarizes the current status of replantation of portions of the upper extremity, especially the digits. He stresses the concept that a well‐organized and experienced microsurgical team is essential to the success of such replantation procedures. Patient selection and surgical technique are discussed and results in a series of 239 partial or total amputations are presented.
