摘要:
Brachiopods of the Early CarboniferousSchellwienella burlingtonensisZone in New South Wales are systematically described. The zone contains at least 39 species referred to 30 genera and 24 families. One genus and seven species are newly established, includingSchuchertella oversbyisp. nov.,Angustispatulata campbelligen. et sp. nov.,Plectospira simplexsp. nov.,Prospira maxwellisp. nov.,Crassumbo gresfordensissp. nov.,Actinoconchus rouchelensissp. nov. andHamburgia? hillaesp. nov. The threefold subdivision of the zone is confirmed. The Swains Gully Section in the Werrie Syncline is reinstated as the reference for theSpirifer soland base of theSchellwienella burlingtonensisZones. The upper part of the zone is best represented by the Mt Richardson Section in the Gresford Block and Section 30 in the Rouchel Block. The lower part of the zone is characterised by the first appearance of the nominate species,Kitakamithyris rouchelensisandAntiquatonia spinulicosta, which persist through the higher part of the zone; the middle part (thePustula gracilis - Megachonetes alatusSubzone) by the first appearance ofPustula gracilis, Megachonetes alatus, Syringothyris texta, Kitakamithyris uniplicata, Spirifer (Mesochorispira)cf.grimesiandCrassumbo gresfordensissp. nov.; and the upper part (theMarginatia patersonensisSubzone) by the first appearance ofM. patersonenensis, Schuchertellacf.planumbona, Orthotetes australis, Brachythyris ellipticaandAsyrinxiacf.lata.
