摘要:

SummaryMyocardial involvement is frequent during typhoid fever and is not paralled by the severity of the primary disease. Myocarditis may appear at the prodromal, acute or convalescent stage of typhoid fever. The onset of this complications is quite variable : it can be insidious or outburst suddenly with vascular collapse and angina pectoris. In serious cases congestive heart failure supervenes. Recovery is usual. The pathologic aspect of the heart is the same as in other infectious diseases. Coronary thrombosis has been described as a rare complication of typhoid fever in two cases. The electrocardiographic changes of the myocarditis in typhoid fever are :a) non specific alterations of the ST segment and T wave with diminution of amplitude of the R wave;b) lesions of the conductive system, such as increased PR or QT intervals and slaggering of R wave.
