In multivariate analysis, moral autonomy contributed to the explained variance for participation in politically Leftist social movements. On the bivariate level, “world view” variables besides moral autonomy were also related to social movement participation: (1) authoritarianism, (2) dogmatism, (3) efficacy, and (4) religiosity. In multivariate analysis, the effects of all the explanatory variablesexceptmoral autonomy almost entirely disappeared.
