The experimental and analytical literature is reviewed briefly and is drawn upon to provide solutions for the interactions of weak pressure flows with a strong Couette flow, as would be experienced in turbulent film bearings. In the pertinent derivations, care has been taken to avoid known pitfalls in the application of mixing-length theory. Insofar as is possible, the results are shown to be in accord with reported experimental measurements.
