摘要:
Fluorometric methods are described for the assay of ethanol, methanol, allyl alcohol and n-propanol using the enzyme alcohol oxidase. The enzyme catalyzes the oxidation of the alcohols to aldehydes with concomitant formation of hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide formed is measured fluorometrically using p-hydroxy-phenylacetic acid and peroxidase. From 0.1–100 μg/ml of the alcohols and from 0.0002 to 0.050 unit/ml of alcohol oxidase can be assayed in 2 minutes with a precision of about ± 2%.
