A species ofMoinafrom sewage ponds at Glenside, Wellington, New Zealand, is identifiable withMoina tenuicornisSars, 1896, and distinguishable fromMoina australiensisSars, 1896sensu stricto, in having rectangular sculpturing on the ephippium, ungrouped setae on the hind margin of the carapace, and in lacking a permanent supra‐ocular depression. Because of wide variation in some diagnostic characters, possibly both taxa are conspecific.
