AbstractDespite early internationalisation of Swedish industry, the R&D function remained largely at home. During the 1970s this began to change, mostly through expansion by acquisition and adapting to changing market conditions. In all likelihood R&D will become more international and it is probable that it will be located in countries which combine a good industrial and technological climate with favourable living conditions.
