Consideration of a double-valued attribute affecting spatially equivalent points in the crystallographic point groups leads to Shubnikov's colored point groups, after a nonspatial operator of order two is introduced to restore the symmetry. The stereographic projections of the 90 Shubnikov point groups are presented. The analogies among scalar, polar- and axial-vector attributes are considered. Identification of the nonspatial operator as time reversal in magnetic configurations and some instructional examples are discussed.
