A number of small glass balls are electrically agitated in a Lucite cylinder containing a piston. Consequences of the ideal gas law are demonstrated, as is the law of variation of molecular concentration with height in an isothermal gas. Effects equivalent to thermionic emission or evaporation are shown, and the temperature dependence of the Brownian motion is verified experimentally.
