Two cases of ascites complicating toxemia of pregnancy, in one case eclamptogenic toxemia, are reported. Both patients had low total serum protein concentration with alterations of the size of the albumin fraction. In one case there was a complete reversal of the A/G ratio. It is believed that this is the prime cause of the ascites.
