AbstractOn the effects of the stereoisomer menthols on the behaviour of different termite species (Isoptera). Comparative considerations on analogous relations between structure and toxicity in the hexachlorocyclohexane isomersThe reactions of 16 termite species which were subjected to the influence of the four stereoisomers of menthol are described. Attractive or repellent effects are dependent on the cis‐trans‐configuration. Only the two stereoisomers neomenthol and neoisomenthol with axial hydroxyl‐groups are definitely poisonous.
