Abstract15N NMR chemical shifts are reported for cyanamide, phenylcyanamide and nine substituted phenylcyanamide derivatives. Results are discussed in terms of the degree of the π interaction between the cyanamide moiety and the aromatic ring and the stereoelectronic influence of the substituents
