John Ferguson, President, Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Macon, Georgia, is a leader in his hospital, his community, the regional network of hospitals, and the Georgia Hospital Association. His career in hospitals started around 25 years ago. While many of the problems he tackles frequently recur for all managers, he takes a long view of where he wants to go and where hospitals must go, a view that is refreshing and sobering.
