A new recursive predictor is developed based on the instrumental variable identification algorithm. Flow prediction algorithms are reviewed and their computational requirements are examined. Using available data for the White Nile river, prediction results have been investigated for the daily flow. It shows that the proposed predictor is very simple and accurate for the on-line time-varying river-flow prediction.
