AbstractThe formation of the micropyle inTilapia mossambicaandStigmatogobius javanicus, two fresh water teleosts is described. InT. mossambicathe micropyle is formed by a single modified follicular cell, while inS. javanicusit is formed by a cellular mass derived from the follicle.
