摘要:
Breccias from 40 localities in the Tokatoka district, Northland, are either clastic dikes or tuff-breccias of the Navajo type. The tuff-breccias form dikes and plugs which cut Cretaceous to Eocene argillaceous limestones and are themselves commonly intruded by basalt dikes. The tuff-breccias are composed dominantly of fragmented basalt similar to that of the associated basalt dikes, and minor sedimentary and andesitic debris. The Tokatoka examples are compared with a schematic section through a Navajo tuff-breccia pipe.
