SUMMARYA brief description of theSambucetum ebuliin The Netherlands, not having been described before, is presented. The emphasis is put upon the community structure, distribution and syntaxonomy of the community. The syntaxonomical position of the community remains unclear since it is found on the boundary of its distribution.
