ATOMIC-ABSORPTION SPECTROSCOPY DISCUSSION GROUP PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT OF 1-DAY MEETING THE Group is proposing to hold a 1-day Meeting on Wednesday 14th April 1965 in Sheffield for the demonstration of commercially produced atomic-absorption equipment. There are two alternative plans for the Meeting in one the equipment would be set up during the morning and demonstrated during the afternoon and a discussion Meeting initiated by short talks by representatives of the various manufacturers would be held in the evening. In the other demonstrations would be held during the morning and afternoon and a discussion meeting would end the afternoon. Manufacturers of atomic-absorption equipment who have equipment that they would like to demonstrate and who have not already been in contact with the organisers of this meeting should write to D. Moore Esq. Hilger & Watts Ltd. 98 St. Pancras Way Campden Road London N.W.l. It is stressed that both the date and format of the Meeting are as yet provisional. MIDLANDS SECTION AND SPECIAL TECHNIQUES GROUP PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT OF D DAY SYMPOSIUM ON THERMOMETRIC TITRIMETRY A JOINT l-day symposium on Thermometric Titrimetry is being organised by the Midlands Section and the Special Techniques Group of the Society for Analytical Chemistry the Birming- ham and Midlands Section of the Royal Institute of Chemistry and the Birmingham and Midlands Section of the Society of Chemical Industry at Birmingham University on Wednes- day September 15th 1965. Lecturers will include L. S. Bark B.Sc. F.R.I.C. P. T. Priestley B.Sc. and W. S. Sebhorn B .Sc. A.R.I.C. Anyone who is interested in submitting papers or in demonstrating apparatus for thermometric titrimetry should communicate with M. L. Richardson A.R.I.C. A.C.T. (!irm.) John & E. Sturge Ltd.
