SummaryThe clinical and radiological evolution is described of two diabetics presenting a painless fracture of the calcaneus bone. In both patients infected gangrene of the posterior foot existed before the discovery of the fracture line together with diabetic neuropathy and microangiopathy.The role of infection, nervous and vascular involvment is discussed.Complete healing of the gangrene and filling of the fracture lines on radiography were obtained in both cases.
