AbstractA model is developed to describe the growth of a medical records store subject to rules for microfilming or disposing of record files when they have not been used within a given period of time. Separate projections are given for the number of files in the system and for the volume of file contents. The model allows different microfilm policies to be compared and aids the long term planning of storage facilities.
