In this paper,the identities of degree less than five that are satisfied by all mutations of associative algebras are determined. Among them, we find four mutually irreducible identities that imply all the others. We also study, for algebras that belong tothe variety generated by mutations of associative algebras, some problems which have been already considered for mutation algebras themselves.
