New insights into the aetiology of endometriosis, ovulatory dysfunction and infertility may lead to new therapeutic opportunities for treating these conditions. Researchers have recently discovered that leucocyte migration and activation in reproductive tissues is hormonally regulated, and that this regulation is modulated by chemokines. Dr Aydin Arici from Yale University School of Medicine described these findings in detail at an IBC USA conference on Chemotactic Cytokines [Philadelphia, US; October 1995].
