The termsstratum, bedandlayerrequire precise definition. The termsstratiform orebodyandstratabound orebodyare defined and it is suggested that stratiform orebodies are a particular form of stratabound orebodies. The former may be subdivided into sedimentary, volcanic, hypabyssal, vein, replacement and metamorphic types.
