The paper describes two morphologically distinct forms ofPluchea lanceolataoccurring at Agra and the surrounding areas. This morphological diversity is not associated with any difference in the chromosome number and the karyotype. All plants invariably have n = 10 and 2n= 20. This is the first report on the chromosome number of the plant. Meiosis is normal and results in the formation of viable pollen grains which are shed at the 3 celled stage.
