This paper is concerned with the problem of synthesizing asymptotically stable discrete-time closed-loop linear systems having control vectors of arbitrary order. It is specifically concerned with an examination of the possibility of generalizing a synthesis procedure which was devised by Porter (1960 a) for systems having control and state vectors of the same order.
