The paper contains the report on a trip to certain iron oro districts in the United States and Canada. The trip was carried out in September and October 1951 under the auspices of E C A in Washington, D. C. as a Technical Assistance Project. At the mines the geological aspects of iron ore mining were studied and the relevant problems discussed with mining men and geologists. A number of U. S. Government institutions, universities and mining offices were also visited.
