AbstractThe Twentieth International Geographical Congress was held in London between 20th and 28th July, being formally opened by H.M. the Queen on 21st July, 1964. It was attended by some 2500 delegates from 68 countries. Section IX of the Congress was devoted to Cartography, although the production of specialist maps was also discussed by a number of other Sections and Commissions, notably in Commission 8“National Atlases”and Commission 14“World Population Map”.
